I admit, I stole this:

My inner child is six years old today

My inner child is six years old!

Look what I can do! I can walk, I can run, I can
read! I like to do stuff, and there's a whole
big world out there to do it in. Just so long
as I can take my blankie and my Mommy and my
three best friends with me, of course.

off of Capt Jim's diary. Yay.

Okay, but that wasn't the purpose of this entry, and yes, this entry has a purpose.

I created a new board today, Terre Haute. It's a role playing board based on the idea that I was asked to come up with that spawned the Ozymandias RP I did for a very short while. There are many similarities and many differences between Terre Haute and Ozymandias.

Anyway, that little advertisement wasn't really the purpose either, but it was background for the purpose. See, for Oz, I had created a character and I liked her very much. However, I seem to have "misplaced" her profile (read: I thought I saved it, but never did and the place it was stored got cleaned out). So, I spent a good portion of this afternoon recreating the profile, making minor adjustments for the new location, and (so I don't have to do it again) I wanted to put it somewhere I know I would not lose it (not to mention the fact that it'll be saved on my computer as well when I back up my diary).

So, that's the purpose of this entry.

Introducing Ms. Josephine Harker, age 29, human occult shop owner.

Childhood/background:

In a town, not yet large enough to be called a city, Josephine grew up as an only child. Her parents blended in with the community around them, never doing anything out of the ordinary.

Josephine, however, was another story.

Ever since she could remember, she had always been drawn to the mystical and the "unknown." Her parents never did anything to discourage this target of curiosity and she was allowed to collect everything she could afford so she could study the magickal arts. She became proficient in several magickal paths, and by the time she started high school, her knowledge of mythology and superstition was unparalleled.

Her grades were nothing to be proud of though. All the mystical studies left little room for scholastic studies and she barely did enough to pass. Josephine hadn't actively looked for friends and most people didn't approach her. She was "odd" and "odd" as not an acceptable way to be in a religious community. She graduated from high school with a 1.8 GPA and with very few friends.

She was never sure what she wanted to do with her life. Never having any plans for going to college, she spent the summer with her parents. She knew there must be something she was meant to do, it would just be a matter of time until she found it.

How she arrived in Terre Marn:

Towards the end of summer, her parents had their 20th wedding anniversary and decided to go out to celebrate. Josephine was left to her devices for the evening. After very little thought, she decided to do as she always did. She drove to the store and spent a short time gathering ingredients. While she was standing in the checkout lane, her eyes browsed over the tabloits. She knew that, in most cases, they were nothing but stories, but one could never tell what truths might pop up in them.

That night something caught her eye. On the front page was a picture. She's sure, now, that there was a caption too, but she paid no attention to it. Her eyes were locked on the image of the mansion. Even through the news print, she could feel the power it had. She had to know all she could about the place. She purchased the tabloid and immersed herself in it. The name of the building was Haute Manor, and it was located in a place called Terre Haute (No doubtly named after the Manor), but there was no other specifics. She had heard stories about the place before. She dismissed them as just urban legends, but she couldn't dismiss them any longer.

Try as she might, Josephine could not find any more information about the Manor or the surrounding area. She knew that she had to see the place. This was one of the things she was meant to do.

The next day, she told her parents what she was going to do. They were sad that she would be leaving them, but as always, they were supportive of her. They slipped an envelop into her bag as she packed, knowing that she was not going to return for a very long time.

She was 18 when she left home 11 years ago. She used the money given to her by her parents that day to put a down payment on a small building in downtown Terre Marn. There, she set up a small occult shop, and made her home in the apartment on the second floor. Over the years, she made a name for herself in the community, but she never felt the need to move or expand.

Her physical appearance:

Josephine hasn't cut her hair once since she moved out of her parents house. It falls to her waist in thick waves. She's been asked many times if she dyes her hair, but it's naturally that deep red color, a sharp contrast to her green eyes.

Her skin is quite pale. If she's been in the sun, her freckles are more noticible, but she doesn't darken. She has two tattoos; each with their own personal meaning and story.

The first she got when she was initiated into the Wiccan religion. On her upper left arm is a pattern of two lined swirling. To her, it represents the duality of nature, the masculine and feminine aspects, and the continuity of the energy.

The second tattoo is small, and located in the center of her forehead. She got it as her status was raised to that of a high priestess. She uses it as a tool to focus her energy and to allow the visions the Goddess sends her to come through much more clearly.

Josephine is very rarely without her amulet, a small silver and moonstone necklace that she charges each full moon.

So, that's that.
